BREAKING NEWS!

Jamaica Symphony Orchestra performing at the World Travel Awards
Over 1500 music lovers and JSO supporters will assemble at the Swallowfield Chapel on November 27, 2011 to enjoy a unique blend of traditional classical pieces, seasoned with Jamaican original classical works – most of which will be performed publicly for the first time. Setting the tone for the evening will be the ground-breaking ‘Run-A-Boat Symphony’, which was written by talened and young Jamaican composer, Andrew Marshall, who is completing his doctorate in the United States. The historic work was specifically commissioned by the JSO to introduce a new symphonic sound to the world and to celebrate Jamaica's 50th years of Independence. The public will hear the piece for the first time when the JSO performs the opening movement that was recorded in Jamaica earlier this year. . . .
